Linnaea borealis is found in boreal forests across the Northern Hemisphere. Its common name “Twinflower” arises from the twin bell- shaped flowers which typically appear in June and July. The loosely matted plants are semi- woody and evergreen with leafy stems that creep low over the ground from long runners. The plant is named after the distinguished botanist Carl Linnaeus.
